Bailey Unicorn - the ultimate four season tourer
The soon-to-be-launched Unicorn premium caravan range will be the first Bailey products to feature the Alde Compact 3010 hydronic central heating system as standard equipment. Fitted in both single and twin axle models, this will combine with the market leading thermal properties of the Alu-Tech body shell to make Unicorn the ultimate four season tourer.
The Alde system provides hydronic central heating to the caravan via integral radiators located throughout the main cabin and a practical heated towel rail in the washroom. The result is the provision of an even distribution of up to 8.5kw’s of warmth (combined gas/electric operation; 5.5kw on solo gas operation & 3kw on solo electric operation) at an even temperature across the whole vehicle. The slow air currents maintain humidity with very little particulate circulation which helps keep the atmosphere pleasant and healthy throughout. While a silent running 12v circulator quietly pulls the fluid along the pipes with only a small current draw, making the Alde system ideal for use when on locations without mains electrical power.
In addition as Alde central heating does not require a fire like the alternative methods of caravan heating it releases more space to generate additional internal storage capacity.
The superior performance of the Alde system is matched by the advanced thermal insulation properties of the Alu-Tech body shell to ensure any warmth generated will be retained. These characteristics are achieved via the use of body shell panels that are up to 30% thicker than those found in a conventionally made caravan and which are constructed using superior grade polystyrene. This is then supplemented by additional localized insulation in traditional cold spot areas as identified by the research carried out by The University of Bath during the development of the new construction system.
As a result all Alu-Tech built caravans have achieved the Grade III Classification of Thermal Insulation for EN1645-I, allowing you to holiday all year round by keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer, as well as making your tourer more economical to run. Each range has been individually tested in the cold chamber at The Millbrook Proving ground to verify that the caravans comply fully with all aspects of the standard.
